The vanua of Caumatalevu is proud of Fiji’s 15s rep Johnny Dyer’s outstanding performance in the test match against the All Blacks, says Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.
Johnny is the grandson of the late grandmother and former interim minister in the Qarase Administration, Adi Senimili Dyer who hails from the chiefly village of Naduri.
In thanking his nephew, Ratu Wiliame said Macuata should be proud that one of their sons have stamped his mark on a rugby field in New Zealand.
Chaudhry said it would be interesting to see what steps the government would take in this year s budget due to be announced Friday. Friday is budget day, and let s see whether the government will be taking any steps in a new direction, or whether it will be business as usual, Chaudhry said. Many people are waiting for the budget because they are saying the government has borrowed money, and has received help from overseas, but the government is not declaring how that money has been utilised. Chaudhry said the government had stated that loans were taken to help people affected by Cyclone Yasa, especially in Labasa, and also those affected by Covid, but not many people had actually received help.
